Sleeping Problems Wake

Sleeping problems. Waking in the middle of the night?

I wake often in the night. Then go back to sleep and wake again. Everyone around me is starting to see a change. Some nights I wake and can't fall back asleep so I walk around my room. I need it to stop. I have so many things to do during the day I can't be tired or slow or anything. please help me!!
Nothing in my life would cause this. It has been going on for a while now.

Could it be that the worry of being a busy person and having such a lot to do is is causing you to be unable to 'switch off' properly? Perhaps something happens around you (a noise or something similar, either in the house or outside) is waking you without you realising, or could it be the need to use the lavatory? If you do find yourself unable to fall back to sleep, a good idea is to read a book or do something relaxing that will take your mind off not being able to sleep - laying in bed and fretting about not being able to sleep makes the problem worse. If you worry about having things to do you could try writing a list last before you go to bed, and then work through it methodically the next day, ticking off your tasks as they are completed. If you think you are just a light sleeper have you tried using earplugs? Make sure your bedroom is not too hot and that you don't have any external stimuli (close any windows, turn off any lights). Try not to eat too heavy a meal in the evening, and not too late at night either, and definitely no caffeine/alcohol close to bedtime. If you think or even know from experience that none of this will help then talk to your doctor.
