Does your baby rub his eyes? he wants to go to sleep,but you lay him down to go to sleep and he starts crying he's wide awake again and wants to be picked up? Is your toddler weepy and just wants to cling to you? Does your child want to stay in bed on a morning and you can't get him to bed on a evening? It all points to your child having a sleep problem.

Children, like adults, can suffer from inadequate sleep, related to a whole host of causes. These sleep problems in children can turn even the most happy, well adjusted child into a moody, disobedient and sometimes defiant child who fusses, whines or constantly argues. Your child needs help to sleep properly.

Signs of Lack of Proper Sleep. Even if your child goes to bed at bedtime without fussing or arguing and wakes up easily in the morning that does not mean he is getting enough undisturbed sleep. Your child is probably not getting the sleep that they require for their body and mind to develope.

More that the usual number of accidents or injuries.Does your child seem to constantly be stumbling, falling or dropping things? If so, and if there is no medical reason for this to be occurring your child may not be getting enough sleep.

Has your child suddenly turned moody.

Does the smallest think start them crying?

Do they get angry easily over small insignificant things?

Has it got to the point that your child either does not want you to touch them, or they have become that clingy they will not settle with out you?

Has your child begun to show signs of poor behavior such as frequent arguing, talking back or temper tantrums?

Has your child begun having difficulty with learning, become forgetful or slow to react?

If so then your child is probably suffering from one or more sleep problems that is making it impossible for him to get the rest he needs. He is not acting up because he chooses to, it is his way of telling you that something is wrong and he needs help in ways to get to sleep soundly.

If your child is having sleep problems what you should do.

If your child is experiencing sleep problems the first thing to do is to seek out medical care and make sure that your child is not suffering from an illness or medical condition that you do not know about. Don't be surprised if your child gets a clean bill of health in most cases, sleep problems in children are not medically related but, it is always smart to make sure.

If your child is healthy and there is no easy explanation then it is time to look at different
ways of helping them. You are going to have to do your homework to find out why your child is not getting enough sleep and how you can change things to help provide him with ways to get to sleep and get the rest he needs to grow into a healthy functioning adult.

This may mean finding some good reading material on the subject that gives you good, sound, practical advice that actually works. When you see your child functioning properly
you will see that it has been worth all of your effort.
