Whats the difference between Bipap and Cpap ?
Looking to buy a Apnea machine and theres alot more Cpap ones out there.
CPAP = Continuous Airway Positive Pressure 4-26 cm h2o ( in other words, one pressure between 4-26 all the time. unless you get a Resmed Elite with EPR or Respironics M-series with CFLEX) EPR and Cflex are the same thing, you can adjust from level I II or III to have your expiratory pressure drop ( not a set pressure )
Bi-PAP= means two set pressures inhalation between 4-26 and exhalation should be lower than inhalation ( this is a good machine for those patients who have problems breathing against the machine )
APAP ( Auto CPAP )= In my opinion the best way to go. works like a cpap in a way, but instead of one set pressure you set the machine to operate between 2 pressures for example 5-16. this way the machine will constantly find the right pressure on a daily basis, and this is good because the required pressures will change in time and you don't have to wonder if you're on the right pressure or not.
Auto Bi-pap= combination of Bi-pap and APAP.
